NWS Confirms Three Touched Down Sunday Night, Including Two Near O'Hare
Severe and dangerous thunderstorms brought several tornadoes to the ground in the Chicagoland area Sunday night, including one that reached an intensity of EF-0 and caused damage in DuPage County.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that at least three tornadoes touched down in the Chicago area Sunday night, with two of those occurring near O'Hare International Airport. The third tornado was reported in DuPage County, where it caused damage to homes and businesses.
The NWS has also confirmed that at least 10 tornadoes touched down in the Chicago area Monday night, including two at O'Hare and one in northwest Indiana. These tornadoes caused widespread damage across the region, and the NWS is still assessing the extent of the damage.
The storms also brought heavy rain and hail to the Chicago area, causing flooding and power outages. The NWS is urging residents to be aware of the potential for more severe weather and to take precautions to stay safe.
